Photo Direct announces an important distribution appointment
Fit Engineering has today appointed Photo Direct as its exclusive distributor for Australia and New Zealand. The Italian-based company specialises in the customised design and manufacture of hardware and software systems mainly for the photo printing market. It is a worldwide supplier of automation equipment to leading photofinishing companies including DNP.
Fit Engineering s.r.l. was founded in 1994 by a group of engineers with a background in the field of automation systems. Their scope was to build an agile and flexible company able to deliver smart and complete solutions for the mechatronics market. Since 2004 it has successfully been developing, manufacturing and selling Kiosk hardware and Kiosk software solutions for photo retailers. In Europe alone it has an installed base of more than 6,000 units in countries as diverse as Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Malta.
Steuart Meers says he’s delighted with the new appointment. “Fit produces a range of multimedia touch-screen kiosks, tailored to a manufacturer’s specifications for self-service photo order creation. We’re particularly excited by the work Fit Engineering has achieved in collaboration with Dai Nippon (DNP) and believe this will make our job much easier when presenting the business case to retailers for a total DNP solution.”
Steuart believes that as print creation and customer experience solutions continue to change and diversify due to a range of market pressures companies like Fit Engineering will play a pivotal role in helping manufacturers improve and streamline the business model employed by smart retailers. ”The DiLand DNP software solution is just the start of some exciting developments we’ll see Down Under” added Steuart.
